The ranges you’ll see in Connecticut
Most established Connecticut wedding photographers land somewhere between $2,500 and $6,500, with luxury studios going well beyond that. Below that range you’re usually looking at someone newer to weddings, which isn’t automatically bad, but weddings don’t offer second takes, and experience is most of what you’re buying.
What moves the number
- Experience. A photographer who has worked hundreds of weddings has seen every lighting situation, every timeline surprise, and every nervous family group. That reliability is the most expensive and most valuable thing on the invoice.
- Coverage hours. Getting-ready through last dance costs more than ceremony and portraits. Think about which parts of your day you’ll want to see again.
- A second photographer. Two shooters mean your first look and your parents’ reactions both get captured, and the candid moments happening away from the main action don’t disappear. Some studios include a second shooter in every package; many charge for it.
- Albums and keepsakes. Digital galleries are standard now. Physical albums, parent books, and prints add real cost, and they’re also the part your grandchildren will actually hold.
- Extras. Engagement sessions, additional locations, drone coverage, and travel all move the total.
